Project “Overland Port”

The objective of the project

The creation of a regional transportation and logistics center for coordination of rail and sea transport. Center will not only optimize the movement of export cargo through the ports of the Primorsky Region, but also facilitate to load the Trans-Siberian Railway in the return direction.

Relevance of the project related to the recent accession of the Russian Federation to the World Trade Organization (WTO). Changing the terms of foreign trade has led to a sharp increase in container traffic. For the timely handling of containers and to avoid congestion on the railways it is necessary the intensification of transport and logistics flows. Growth of export cargoes requires the creation of a transport service with the use of modern logistics technologies.
